LNG Trader

About the role

We are looking for an experienced LNG Trader to monitor global LNG and ethane markets, develop trading insights and execute paper trading strategies. The role bridges market analysis with commercial decision‑making and supports the physical trading team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse global LNG and ethane supply‑demand fundamentals, pricing, shipping, inventory, geopolitical and regulatory developments.
• Develop market insights and commercial recommendations to shape trading strategies.
• Design and execute paper trading strategies for LNG, ethane and related energy products using futures, swaps and other derivatives within approved risk limits.
• Manage trading positions, market exposure and P&L performance in line with mandates.
• Collaborate with operations, shipping, finance and risk teams to ensure efficient trade execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, counterparties and market participants.
• Gradually support physical LNG and ethane trading activities, including contract negotiations and cargo optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Business, Trading, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in LNG, natural gas, ethane or other energy markets, with exposure to market analysis, paper trading or physical trading.
• Strong understanding of LNG/ethane market fundamentals, pricing mechanisms and shipping economics.
• Excellent command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
