Manufacturing Engineer (Machining)

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) supports the machine shop and subcontract vendors on complex machining projects. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role drives tooling design, fixture development, and the adoption of new technologies to improve capability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate complex machine drawings for manufacturability.
• Design and implement tooling and fixtures for machining intricate features.
• Support new product qualifications and ensure optimized, competitive machining hours.
• Collaborate with Procurement to develop strategic sub‑contract machining suppliers.
• Source and qualify new machining vendors for the approved vendor list.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure first‑article approvals.
• Participate in daily MRB meetings to address non‑conformances.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and lead continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with machining complex parts, preferably for oil & gas equipment.
• Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, and API standards is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MasterCam.
• Strong communication, analytical abilities, and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
