Marine Technician – Mechanical (5.5 days/week)

About the role

The Marine Technician (Mechanical) will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery onboard vessels. The role involves hands‑on machining, welding and cutting tasks to ensure equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on marine mechanical systems.
• Execute lathe machining operations to fabricate or repair components.
• Carry out basic gas welding, TIG welding and cutting work as required.
• Diagnose and resolve hydraulic and pneumatic system issues.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

Required profile

• Nitec in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical fitment, welding and system troubleshooting.
• Ability to work safely in a marine environment and follow standard operating procedures.
