Marine Work Construction Engineer

About the role

The Marine Work Construction Engineer will lead the planning, coordination and supervision of marine construction projects, ensuring that all works are executed in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project schedules. This role involves close interaction with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and regulatory authorities to deliver safe, high‑quality marine infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise marine construction activities such as dredging, reclamation, piling, jetty/wharf construction, revetments, seawalls and breakwaters.
• Review construction drawings, technical specifications and method statements before work commences.
• Prepare and review work programmes, construction sequences, risk assessments and other technical submissions.
• Monitor daily site activities, manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractor performance to meet safety, quality and schedule targets.
• Deploy and operate marine equipment, vessels, barges and cranes required for project execution.
• Identify and resolve technical and site coordination issues during execution.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and relevant standards.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients and authorities and secure necessary approvals.
• Support tendering, pre‑construction, testing, commissioning, handover and close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant construction experience, preferably in marine or water‑related projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and method statements.
• Familiarity with construction methods, site coordination, progress monitoring, quality and safety requirements.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
