Materials Project Manager – Engineering & Sourcing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager in Singapore to lead engineering, materials and manufacturing forecasting, supplier coordination and material strategy for semiconductor and display equipment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis to support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Form and lead the Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables across buyers, planners and production control.
• Collaborate with engineering to interpret requirements and create new project materials strategies.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations and, when authorized, negotiate contracts.
• Execute supplier selection, risk assessment and performance monitoring (delivery, quality, cost).
• Manage materials change‑control, cost objectives and quality issue resolution.
• Generate and publish key process indicators and track total landed‑cost targets.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in materials engineering and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices, market competition and how the materials function integrates with other areas.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and can lead small, low‑risk projects.
