Materials Project Manager – Engineering & Sourcing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager to lead forecasting, sourcing, and material strategy for semiconductor and display manufacturing projects in Singapore. The role combines engineering insight with supply‑chain expertise to ensure timely delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms, and contracts while monitoring performance.
• Execute commercialization material plans and manage material change control processes.
• Generate and publish key process indicators, tracking total landed cost targets.
• Partner with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in materials engineering and related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices and integration with other functions, aware of market competition.
• Ability to lead small projects and act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing multiple information sources.
• Effective communication to explain complex information and build consensus.
