M&E Technician

About the role

The M&E Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical building services to ensure reliable operation of facilities. This role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, and supporting larger engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on M&E systems and equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections, monitor conditions and record equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and other building services.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain air‑conditioning units, pumps, motors, electrical panels, lighting and related equipment.
• Carry out basic electrical testing, fault finding and performance checks.
• Assist with maintenance of chillers, AHUs, FCUs and ventilation systems.
• Support contractors and vendors during inspections, servicing and upgrades.
• Ensure all work follows SOPs, safety procedures and WSH guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, readings and repairs.
• Assist engineers with facility improvements and M&E projects.

Required profile

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related field.
• Relevant experience in M&E, facilities or building maintenance is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance independently.
• Good safety awareness and teamwork skills.
