Media Engagement Manager

About the role

The Media Engagement Manager will plan and execute public and digital communication initiatives that support the Ministry of Defence and Singapore Armed Forces' objectives. The role focuses on preserving and strengthening public trust in national defence, National Service and the SAF.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate publicity plans for mainstream and social media platforms.
• Collaborate with media organisations to secure feature stories.
• Draft responses to forum letters and media queries.
• Develop local and international media engagement strategies.
• Manage public communications during incidents and unplanned events.

Required profile

• Degree in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, or ICT/Digital Media.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in an additional language (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Keen interest in Singapore’s media, political, defence and security developments.
• Good understanding of Singapore’s media landscape.
• Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness to work odd hours and travel overseas at short notice.
