Middleware Engineer (Batch Ops)

About the role

The Middleware Engineer will support batch operations for critical enterprise applications, ensuring smooth deployment, configuration, and execution of batch jobs. You will collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to design and optimise batch solutions, while adhering to strict operational processes. This role requires 24x7 readiness to respond to production incidents and support project cut‑overs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide batch operation support for ActiveBatch, GoAnywhere, Tectia and related tools, covering deployment, configuration updates, and job recovery.
• Execute batch job deployments, configure updates, and monitor job execution to ensure successful completion.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to discuss batch requirements and contribute to solution design.
• Leverage platform capabilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Support application deployments to production environments, following established change‑management processes.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, providing 24x7 coverage for production incidents, platform patches, and project cut‑overs.
• Strictly follow documented processes and duty rosters for out‑of‑office support.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in batch operation support or a closely related role.
• Self‑motivated and able to work in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems.
• Willingness to be on‑call for after‑hours support as required.
