Middleware Service Operations Specialist

About the role

APAR Technologies is seeking a Middleware Service Operations Specialist to ensure the reliability, availability and stability of its middleware platforms. You will work closely with development, project and business teams to support production operations and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide production operations and technical support for middleware technologies and platforms.
• Maintain reliability, availability and stability of middleware services.
• Troubleshoot, analyse and resolve incidents, problems, service requests and change activities.
• Support and maintain BMC Control‑M, Axway CFT/Secure Transport/Sentinel and IBM MQ platforms.
• Collaborate with development, project and business teams to understand technical requirements and support project deliverables.
• Identify and resolve performance issues across production platforms.
• Drive automation, process optimisation and performance hygiene.
• Develop and maintain self‑service interfaces and associated workflows.
• Participate in strategic technology projects and initiatives.
• Follow ITIL service management practices for incident, problem and change management.
• Prepare and maintain technical and operational documentation.
• Participate in shift and on‑call support rotations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in middleware service operations, production support or infrastructure operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one of the listed middleware technologies.
• Experience with Linux, Unix and/or Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring and service management tools such as OMI, ServiceNow or Geneos.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and participate in on‑call rotation.
