Night Shift Front Office Officer – Hotel

About the role

Join Cove as a Night Duty Officer and be the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours. You will ensure smooth hotel operations, deliver exceptional service to late‑arriving guests, and prepare the property for the morning shift.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome late‑arriving guests, handle check‑in/check‑out and respond to inquiries.
• Monitor overnight hotel operations, conduct walkthroughs, and keep public areas clean and secure.
• Manage same‑day bookings, cancellations and room inventory using the Property Management System.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security and other departments to resolve guest issues.
• Process guest payments, balance cash float and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Perform night audit tasks, reconcile revenues and generate operational reports.
• Ensure safety by following emergency procedures and controlling access to the property.
• Prepare the front desk and lobby for the morning shift and hand over outstanding matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years front‑office experience in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Previous experience working overnight shifts is preferred.
• Experience using a hotel Property Management System (PMS).
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Calm and confident when handling complaints or emergencies.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
• Honest, reliable, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Willingness to work permanent night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
