Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day running of a large‑scale industrial energy facility. This role ensures safe, reliable and efficient plant performance in a 24/7 environment while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all plant operational activities, including production planning, material handling, process operations and supporting utility systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and operational regulations.
• Manage environmental performance, emissions monitoring, waste streams and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead site security, contractor management and operational risk mitigation.
• Drive asset reliability and process optimisation through preventive maintenance, performance analysis and continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Coach, develop and lead multidisciplinary operations and technical teams.
• Engage with customers, regulators, utility providers and internal stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Control departmental budgets, operating plans, audits and licensing requirements.
• Support long‑term operational strategy, forecasting, business planning and investment projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Energy engineering or a related discipline.
• 8‑10 years of experience in power generation, utilities, industrial processing, chemicals, petrochemicals, refining or similar continuous‑process industries.
• Strong understanding of plant operations, environmental compliance, process safety and asset management.
• Proven experience leading teams in a 24/7 operational environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management, problem‑solving and leadership capabilities.
