Planning Director, Client Experience & Leadership

About the role

Assembly is seeking a senior Planning Director to own key client relationships across the region and drive strategic growth. You will lead the development of media strategies that align brand objectives with performance goals, while ensuring seamless activation delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop annual and campaign media strategies that translate client briefs into data‑driven frameworks with clear KPIs.
• Design and execute full‑funnel media plans across digital and traditional channels, collaborating with strategy, data, activation and creative teams.
• Drive media innovation and thought leadership, keeping clients ahead of market trends and identifying new opportunities with media partners.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for client stakeholders, providing strategic counsel and presenting performance reviews.
• Build trusted relationships with clients’ marketing, media and business teams, linking media investment to business outcomes.
• Lead, mentor and inspire the activation team, ensuring consistency between planning strategy and execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior media planning or strategic leadership roles within an agency environment.
• Strong track record of managing regional client portfolios and delivering measurable business results.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and foster a collaborative culture.
