Principal Consultant - Data

About the role

Capco’s Data Team is looking for a Principal Consultant to lead data governance and management initiatives for banking and financial services clients. You will shape data strategy, drive regulatory compliance, and enable data‑driven decision‑making across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and enhance enterprise Data Governance and Management frameworks.
• Create and maintain data governance artifacts such as data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata catalogs, data lineage, and classification standards.
• Support initiatives in Data Architecture, Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM) and Metadata Management.
• Lead Data Sovereignty, Data Residency and regulatory compliance programs for financial services.
• Partner with business, technology, risk, compliance and executive stakeholders to embed governance across the data lifecycle.
• Deliver data transformation projects using Agile methodologies and support executive‑level reporting.
• Utilise governance tools (Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, Ab Initio, etc.) to improve data transparency, control and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research or a related field.
• 10+ years of proven experience in data governance, data management or related data‑focused consulting roles.
