Principal Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a founding Principal Data Scientist to lead the technical vision of our AI‑native data infrastructure platform. As the senior‑most individual contributor, you will tackle ambiguous, high‑impact problems and set the technical standards for the entire function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of core AI‑native platform capabilities such as LLM agents, semantic search, auto‑optimization, and data‑quality anomaly detection.
• Define foundational architecture and design patterns for the ML/GenAI stack, including RAG, evaluation, guardrails, and LLMOps.
• Build robust, scalable, production‑grade models and systems, owning the full model lifecycle from feature engineering to monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Engineering, and founders to translate vague product ideas into shippable data‑science solutions.
• Establish standards for code quality, experimentation rigor, documentation, and MLOps while mentoring senior and mid‑level scientists.

Required profile

• 7‑10+ years of hands‑on experience, including 2+ years as a Staff/Lead/Principal Data Scientist in a top product company or high‑growth startup.
• Proven track record of taking an ML/GenAI product from 0 to 1 and scaling it in production.
• Experience in data infrastructure, B2B SaaS, or AI platforms is a strong plus.
• Deep expertise in at least two areas such as LLMs/RAG/AI agents, NLP, knowledge graphs/semantic layers, time‑series/anomaly detection, or recommender systems.
• Strong system‑design mindset with hands‑on experience in Spark, vector databases, orchestration, feature stores, and MLflow.
