Principal DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (AI Efficiency)

About the role

The AI Efficiency team at Riot Games is looking for a Principal DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to own and evolve the operational foundations that support AI‑driven platforms and tools. You will ensure these systems remain stable, scalable, secure, and dependable as they become integral to creative, product, and development workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automation, standards, and support practices for production environments.
• Partner with software, ML platform, data science, and security teams to improve developer experience, observability, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Evaluate and operationalize AI‑native workflows such as agent‑assisted code review, automated bug triage, and AI‑driven performance analysis.
• Lead incident management, own production health, and drive sustainable operational practices.
• Continuously improve reliability, reduce operational toil, and create “paved roads” for rapid yet safe delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating large‑scale, highly available systems.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead through incidents and drive reliability initiatives.
• Passion for applying emerging AI capabilities responsibly within engineering workflows.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work across engineering, data science, and security teams.
