Principal Quality Engineer – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Operations Quality Engineer drives product, process, supplier and operational quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This hands‑on technical role uses data‑driven methodologies, quality engineering tools and continuous improvement practices to enhance product and manufacturing performance while ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy quality systems, lead structured problem‑solving and corrective actions across manufacturing.
• Support factory operations and partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Global Quality and Customer teams to prevent defects and improve cycle time.
• Analyze operational data, build dashboards and lead Lean Six Sigma projects to improve quality, productivity and cost performance.
• Serve as technical quality partner for Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Supply Chain and Customer teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in quality, manufacturing, product or reliability engineering within semiconductor capital equipment or a comparable complex manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead root‑cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Required skills

• Quality methodologies: 8D, CAPA, DMAIC, Fishbone, 5‑Why, Pareto analysis.
• Statistical tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, First Article Inspection.
• Data and visualization tools: Excel, Power BI, Tableau, JMP, statistical analysis, data visualization.
• Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, ISO 9001 compliance.
• Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment, GD&T, inspection and metrology.
