Principal Software Engineer

About the role

Y3 Technologies is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality, scalable software solutions in its Singapore hub. You will work with a dynamic team, providing technical leadership and ensuring that products meet performance and reliability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draft comprehensive technical specifications for software development tasks.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Java and related frameworks.
• Conduct unit testing, system integration testing, and peer code reviews.
• Architect scalable systems based on user requirements and business rules.
• Coordinate release planning, deployment activities, and migration tasks.
• Support pre‑sales teams with technical input and solution design.
• Maintain detailed documentation for projects and development processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 10‑13 years of hands‑on software development experience, preferably in enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with a passion for continuous learning.

Required skills

• Java and Object‑Oriented Programming
• Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• MVC architecture and RESTful services
• Drools (business rules engine) – a plus
• Front‑end technologies: VueJS, ReactJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5
• Relational databases – PostgreSQL (EDB Postgres preferred)
• Version control: Git, SVN
• Solution architecture and technical leadership
