Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager in day‑to‑day on‑site monitoring, implementation and scheduling of construction projects. This role ensures that projects progress on time, within budget and meet quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with on‑site monitoring, implementation and scheduling.
• Plan, coordinate, implement and manage projects or project phases to meet budget, quality and cost targets.
• Ensure all work complies with approved plans, regulations and contract specifications.
• Maintain project safety and quality standards.
• Conduct and participate in progress meetings, reviewing schedules and milestones.
• Manage training for the project team.
• Liaise with consultants, clients and sub‑contractors to ensure smooth execution.
• Prepare method statements, proposals, test plans, acceptance plans and project schedules.
• Submit weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Read AutoCAD drawings and schematics to support project activities.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned by superiors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a degree in Project Management.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Valid Class 3 driving licence for site travel and supervision.
• Willingness to work a 5.25‑day week with alternate Saturdays, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings and schematics.
