Project Manager (Construction)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of industrial building projects for a market‑leading developer. The role will oversee schedule, budget, compliance and coordination across design, operations and finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure project schedule and site progress remain on track and comply with legal obligations.
• Review design drawings for value engineering and constructability considerations.
• Coordinate and verify subcontractor proposals during the award stage.
• Negotiate subcontractor deductions for non‑compliance and breaches.
• Manage project cost, budget, cash‑flow and client progress claims.
• Prepare formal project certifications and handover documents.
• Oversee defect rectification progress and related legal claims.
• Maintain relationships with relevant authority officers.
• Incorporate constructability inputs from Operations into design drawings.
• Ensure timely receipt of design drawings for subcontractor tender.
• Attend monthly site meetings and ensure site managers/engineers attend design meetings.
• Support Finance with prompt client progress claim payments and cost report deviations.
• Administer QA/H&S resources to ensure compliance.
• Conduct client design kick‑off, internal design, pre‑construction and monthly project‑update meetings.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience.
• Strong communication, decision‑making and resource‑management abilities.
• Proven problem‑solving, dispute‑resolution and emergency‑response skills.
• Team‑oriented, result‑driven attitude with ability to work independently under pressure.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements.
