About the role
Our company operates in the retail sector, focusing on costume jewellery, tourist gifts and souvenirs. We are seeking a Purchasing Director to lead our procurement function and drive cost‑effective purchasing across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, improvise and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost‑effective purchasing.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors to obtain the best terms and conditions.
- Oversee the procurement budget, ensure compliance and drive financial efficiency.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of purchasing professionals while collaborating with other departments on purchasing needs.
- Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience specializing in the company’s product range.
- Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to travel to the Myanmar branch to manage the purchasing team.
- Ability to travel to China to liaise with manufacturers and suppliers on quality and design.
