Research Assistant (Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Metabolism)

About the role

The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is looking for a Research Assistant to carry out routine experiments in a cell biology laboratory. The postholder also takes care of the administrative and logistical upkeep of laboratory operations, including procurements, health and safety management and general lab organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the general organisation and operation of the lab
• Handle procurements and oversee health and safety management matters
• Work alongside PhD students and Research Fellows on research projects
• Conduct experiments independently and analyse experimental data at a high standard
• Give regular research updates in the form of internal group meetings

Required profile

• BSc in Biology or a related field
• Prior lab experience in mammalian cell biology (cell culture, transfection), biochemistry (SDS-PAGE, Western blotting), immunohistochemistry (sectioning and staining), fluorescence light microscopy (immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy) and mouse work (metabolic phenotyping)
• Team-player attitude, excellent organisational skills, resourceful and a self-starter
