Research Engineer (Embedded AI/ML - MetaSense Project)

About the role

We are seeking a Research Engineer to join the MetaSense project, a cuff‑less wearable platform for continuous cardiometabolic monitoring. The role spans embedded hardware, firmware, and AI/ML development and is supervised for a period of one year.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise biocomputational AI/ML models for physiological data.
• Assist in embedded firmware design and implementation for PPG/ECG sensor modules.
• Perform hardware bring‑up, testing and validation of wearable prototypes.
• Collaborate with clinical partners (NHCS/SingHealth) and research institutes (A*STAR) to ensure data quality and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to documentation and preparation for clinical validation studies.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest in wearable biosensing and health‑tech research.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and follow close supervision.

Required skills

• Embedded firmware development (C/C++).
• Hardware bring‑up and debugging of sensor boards.
• AI/ML model development for resource‑constrained devices.
• Experience with photoplethysmography (PPG) and ECG signal processing.
