Research Fellow – Vascularized Organoids & Microphysiological Systems

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to lead the development of a vascularized patient‑derived colorectal cancer organoid platform. The role focuses on integrating perfused microvascular networks with organoid cultures to enable intravascular drug dosing, real‑time imaging, and downstream single‑cell and spatial profiling.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and quality‑control patient‑derived colorectal cancer organoids (PDOs), including expansion and experimental scheduling.
• Set up and optimise vascularized organoid cultures with perfused microvascular networks.
• Design and execute intravascular dosing assays (e.g., 5‑FU and combination therapies), including controls, replicates and documentation.
• Coordinate readouts such as live imaging, flow cytometry, single‑cell and spatial profiling.
• Develop and deliver validated SOPs, QC metrics and project milestones.

Required profile

• Experience with patient‑derived organoid culture and microphysiological systems.
• Ability to optimise and standardise complex biological workflows.
• Proficiency in designing drug‑response and combination‑therapy assays.
• Capability to coordinate multi‑modal readouts and data integration.
