Secondary School Educational Assistant

About the role

The Secondary School Educational Assistant supports the head of the school and the educational teams in supervising and following‑up on students throughout the school day. Working under the responsibility of the CPE, the assistant helps ensure a safe, well‑organized environment for secondary‑level pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise students from arrival to departure, including recess, lunch, outings and detentions, ensuring safety and well‑being.
• Record and analyse student absences and late arrivals as part of follow‑up.
• Enforce school rules and safety regulations.
• Animate activities for college and high‑school student houses.
• Participate in educational, sports, artistic, cultural or social activities complementary to teaching.
• Assist teachers in preparing and implementing educational activities, help with study and homework.
• Promote a positive learning climate, respect, tolerance and student well‑being.
• Support the organization of examinations and competitions.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required).
• Experience in animation or working with teenagers is an advantage.
• Knowledge of internal school regulations (Circular 2003‑092) and French language proficiency preferred.
• Understanding of adolescent development and ability to create a climate of trust and listening.
• Capability to manage student discipline and behaviour appropriately.
• Respect for hierarchical relationships, loyalty to the institution and a professional attitude.
• Team player who can collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff.
