Senior Associate / Assistant Vice President, Group Product Control - Treasury Systems Accounting

About the role

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes, providing insights and analyses that support product development and customer profitability decisions, as well as capital management, business planning, forecasting and tax and accounting advisory. This position sits in the Treasury Systems Accounting team within Group Product Control, which sets and maintains the accounting configuration for treasury products in vendor and in-house systems and works with Technology on the design and testing of in-house accounting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Business Analysts, Technology and other Finance stakeholders to understand the end-to-end product life cycle and events, and ensure all accounting requirements are fulfilled and documented.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) so that the system solution meets requirements.
• Help troubleshoot production accounting issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related role in the banking industry.
• Knowledge of bank treasury products and their associated accounting entries.
• Able to understand the underlying logic behind reports and processes, and able to document and communicate effectively.
• Strong team player; location is DBS Asia Central.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Murex is a plus.
• Able to understand simple SQL, and comfortable running simple queries in database clients or building reports in MS Access, QlikView or Tableau.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfort handling large data sets.
