Senior Associate, Investment Operations Specialist - Global Financial Markets

About the role

DBS is looking for a highly motivated and experienced person to join its Global Financial Markets Operations team in Singapore as a Senior Associate or Assistant Vice President. The role is central to ensuring the efficient and controlled end-to-end settlement of Bonds and Repos across global markets, and suits someone with a strong risk control and analytical mindset and a deep understanding of fixed income products and securities financing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end settlement process for Bonds and Repos across all global markets, validating trades against source documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and dispatch accurate, timely settlement instructions to custodians in multiple international markets.
• Monitor settlement flows proactively, anticipate issues and resolve exceptions such as failed trades and mismatches.
• Investigate failed trades, discrepancies and outstanding items, identify root causes and put in place preventative measures.
• Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to mitigate operational risk.
• Engage with managers to help improve risk management frameworks and practices.
• Support clients and internal/external stakeholders with high service levels, using data analytics and tools such as Value Map to drive outcomes.
• Simplify workflows, reduce manual touchpoints and keep SOPs and process documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial markets operations, specifically in Bonds and Repos settlement.
• Strong product knowledge of Bonds and securities financing trades.
• Risk control and analytical mindset, able to foresee issues and act proactively.
• Quick learner who adapts to new infrastructure and evolving market practices.
• Initiative-taking, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to a friendly work environment.
• Able to balance daily operations with a continuous focus on process improvement.
