Senior Cloud Engineer

About the role

Join the WeChat team in Singapore as a Senior Cloud Engineer, helping to deploy, scale, and secure services that reach over a billion users worldwide. You will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, security specialists, and project managers to build reliable, high‑performance cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement architecture for new and existing services, balancing availability, performance, and cost.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain Kubernetes/container clusters, including upgrades, scaling, and multi‑cluster governance.
• Build and operate observability pipelines (metrics, logs, tracing) and define alerting strategies.
• Own the CI/CD and release engineering pipeline, handling canary/gray releases, rollbacks, and configuration management.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripts, tools, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve efficiency.
• Respond to high‑severity incidents, lead detection, mitigation, recovery, and post‑mortem analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Prior experience in Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevOps for a large public‑facing internet service.
• Strong Linux fundamentals (kernel, memory, processes, threads, IPC).
• Solid networking knowledge (HTTP, DNS, TLS, TCP/IP).
• Hands‑on experience with container orchestration and Kubernetes.
