Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Smart IMS is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and support data integration solutions for its global clients. You will work with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS to build reliable ETL pipelines, maintain databases, and deliver reporting platforms that meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases and data solutions.
• Create, enhance, and support SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Monitor scheduled jobs, interfaces, and data‑processing activities.
• Investigate and resolve data‑quality, reconciliation, and production issues.
• Support data migration, system integration, and reporting initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation, data mappings, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with business users, application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in database development, data engineering, or data integration.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS.
• Proven ability to design and optimise ETL processes across multiple systems.
• Experience troubleshooting production incidents and ensuring data integrity.
