Senior Finance Manager

About the role

The Senior Finance Manager will lead the finance function of a manufacturing plant in Malaysia for a global renewable‑energy company. This strategic position is responsible for financial performance, statutory compliance, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and partnering with local and regional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the plant finance team, overseeing daily activities such as revenue recognition, costing, accounts payable, general ledger and financial controls.
• Review monthly financial reporting packages and consolidation schedules to ensure compliance with group reporting requirements.
• Prepare financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Deliver timely financial analysis, management reports and performance insights to support business decisions.
• Act as the primary finance liaison between local operations and regional or headquarters finance teams.
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, and drive cost‑optimisation initiatives.
• Partner with operations, supply chain and production management to support business objectives.
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning process and monitor performance against budgets.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with corporate governance.
• Participate in finance transformation projects and other ad‑hoc initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in auditing, financial reporting, management reporting or finance operations.
• At least 3 years of experience leading finance teams.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly regarded.
• Exposure to multinational reporting, listed companies, oil & gas or complex industrial operations is an advantage.
