Senior MaaS Backend Engineer

About the role

Bitdeer, a technology company for Bitcoin mining and AI cloud headquartered in Singapore, is hiring a Senior MaaS Backend Engineer in Singapore. The role co-owns the end-to-end design of the MaaS platform with the Principal Architect and drives it through its maturity roadmap, with a focus on performance, reliability, security and billing.

Key responsibilities

• Co-own the MaaS system design, author decision records, set Go and API standards, mentor engineers and align cross-functional teams.
• Own the wire compatibility contract for major models (OpenAI, Anthropic), including streaming, tool calling and structured output, and evolve the routing tier with circuit breaking and fallbacks.
• Optimize token throughput, KV cache tiering and TTFT latency, and mature the model serving control plane with deployment tooling, LoRA multiplexing and autoscaling on Kubernetes.
• Scale to a globally distributed architecture with regional inference pools, capacity-aware failovers and an active-active control plane, and define and defend strict SLOs.
• Enforce fail-closed authorization, multi-tenant isolation and rate limiting, and build an exactly-once metering and billing system that reconciles with invoicing.
• Run zero-regression migrations, provide request tracing and cost telemetry, and maintain on-call duties and incident reviews.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years owning a high-traffic, multi-tenant API platform for paying customers.
• Proven track record of zero-downtime brownfield migrations of stateful subsystems such as metering or ledgers.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of LLM serving, including streaming, KV/prefix caching and TTFT vs throughput trade-offs.
• On-call responsibility and incident review experience.
