Senior Manager, Global Merchandise Sourcing (Consumer Products)

About the role

The Senior Manager, Global Merchandise Sourcing leads sourcing within the Global Merchandise Sourcing organization, covering softlines and hardlines product categories such as apparel, accessories, home and pin trading. The role is office-based in the Singapore office and covers seasonal and long-term sourcing strategies that support creative direction while meeting margin and business objectives. It sits within Disney Consumer Products, which brings Disney brands to life through products and experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, mentor and train teams, and manage global initiatives, projects, processes and resources
• Manage the vendor base and engage suppliers to meet quality requirements and drive continuous improvement
• Develop short- and long-term sourcing strategies, set priorities and action plans, and mitigate risk
• Travel domestically and internationally to evaluate market opportunities, build vendor relationships and expand product knowledge
• Assist in the monthly business review, track cost mitigation efforts and propose solutions for site-specific sourcing
• Drive profitability and margins across categories through value engineering, negotiation and mix monitoring
• Build a stable, socially compliant supply base that meets ILS and regulatory standards, and use sourcing technology and analytics to optimise costs
• Report on market trends, economic indicators and geopolitical risks and their impact on sourcing

Required profile

• 10 to 12 years' experience in global sourcing, product development, apparel sourcing or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree; a product-specific technical degree and/or manufacturing experience is a plus
• Experience in fabric sourcing, garment development and end-to-end apparel production
• Strong apparel construction, fit and fabric knowledge, and understanding of textile performance and testing

Required skills

• Knowledge of 3D digital apparel tools such as CLO3D and Browzwear
• Leadership, stakeholder management and project management
