Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for water treatment and infrastructure projects. The role involves both pre‑contract and post‑contract responsibilities, ensuring accurate cost estimation, tender preparation and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop preliminary and detailed design cost estimates and cost plans.
• Prepare tender documentation, including measurements and Bills of Quantities.
• Evaluate tenders and produce comprehensive evaluation reports.
• Assess payment claims, issue payment certificates and monitor project costs.
• Prepare final accounts and manage variation and extension‑of‑time claims.
• Provide cost and financial advice to clients and manage stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or professional certification.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in project costing, procurement and scheduling, preferably in water treatment or infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical mindset, independent and results‑oriented.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage client and contractor stakeholders.

Required skills

• Cost estimating and cost planning.

• Payment certification and cost monitoring.
• Final account preparation and variation assessment.
• Knowledge of Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC).
