Senior Software Engineer – FX Trading Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the FX Engineering team that builds and modernises a market‑leading multi‑dealer FX trading platform. The role focuses on designing and delivering high‑performance, fault‑tolerant, cloud‑native backend services that support critical financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable, low‑latency distributed backend systems using Java and the Spring framework.
• Design, develop, and optimise cloud‑native services deployed on Kubernetes or Docker, integrating messaging platforms such as Kafka and Solace.
• Perform performance tuning and ensure high availability of market‑infrastructure components.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain robust test coverage.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, requirement analysis, and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Strong experience with core Java and Spring framework.
• Experience building low‑latency, fault‑tolerant distributed systems in the financial domain.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Finance‑related education or certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM) are a plus.
