Senior Software Engineer (Java)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Java Engineer to design, build and maintain high‑throughput, secure RESTful APIs and enterprise backend components for our Singapore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Implement clean architectural patterns, SOLID principles and reusable modules.
• Author OpenAPI/Swagger documentation for all endpoints.
• Utilise Java concurrency utilities, multithreading and asynchronous programming to optimise performance.
• Diagnose and resolve memory leaks, thread contention and GC bottlenecks with profiling tools.
• Design and optimise relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (Redis) schemas, manage transactions with Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
• Write tuned SQL queries, configure indexing, connection pooling and caching.
• Implement API security (OAuth2, JWT) and data sanitisation.
• Set up structured logging, health checks and metrics using Logback/SLF4J.
• Write unit‑tested code with JUnit and Mockito and participate in code and architecture reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software development experience with Java 11/17+, deep knowledge of Collections, Streams, concurrency and memory management.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring MVC and dependency injection.
• Proven experience building and scaling RESTful services and handling multi‑database interactions.
• Practical experience with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
