Senior System Engineer (Windows, AD, VMware)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior System Engineer to lead and support 24x7 mission‑critical systems in a secure on‑premises environment. The role combines technical expertise with operational leadership, requiring active involvement in deployments, incident response, and emergency recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows servers, workstations and Active Directory, including GPO management.
• Maintain antivirus definitions, security patches, OS, software and firmware upgrades.
• Renew and manage SSL certificates across all system components.
• Operate VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX) and ensure virtualization health.
• Monitor system logs with Splunk and Syslog tools, performing root‑cause analysis with OEM vendors.
• Execute monthly preventive maintenance, health checks and reporting.
• Support system deployments and change activities during off‑peak hours.
• Manage L1‑L3 incident tickets and service requests, providing Level 2 support on a rotation basis.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support or mission‑critical environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficiency with VMware, Layer 2/3 networking and Splunk monitoring.
• Knowledge of backup/recovery, disaster recovery, patching and cybersecurity solutions.
• Willingness to provide on‑site support for critical incidents, including after‑hours, weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in air‑gapped, secure or regulated environments is a plus.
