Sensor Circuit Design Engineer – Advanced Technology Node

About the role

You will join an energetic team focused on advanced technology development, building a leading‑edge design platform for MediaTek multi‑vertical projects. The role involves creating complex sensor circuit blocks for cutting‑edge process nodes such as planar, FinFET, and nanosheet technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complex circuit blocks from schematic netlist to GDS for leading‑edge nodes.
• Create and evaluate standard cell libraries, performing PPA assessment and customized cell design.
• Collaborate with layout engineers to implement designs and run physical verification (DRC, LVS, ERC, ANT).
• Perform layout extraction, simulate, and analyze performance, power, and leakage, including layout‑dependent effects.
• Work with digital and test teams to collect silicon data and develop processing flows for data analysis, visualization, and AI model regression.
• Develop advanced library generation methodologies, including characterization, kit generation, regression, and quality assurance.
• Characterize timing, power, noise, LVF variation for standard cells or complex blocks.
• Engage with circuit designers and tool vendors to resolve modeling accuracy and runtime challenges.
• Enable and evaluate new kits such as EM and aging characterization.
• Apply data analysis and machine‑learning techniques for circuit performance and power assessment.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years (MS) or 5 years (BS) industry experience; entry‑level candidates may also be considered.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, Tcl or C/C++ for flow development and data analysis, including machine learning.
• Basic knowledge of digital and/or circuit design.
• Strong understanding of foundation IP design, device physics, transistor‑level circuits, and layout‑dependent effects.
• Experience with test‑chip design in FinFET/Nanosheet technologies is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
