Server Operation Engineer II

About the role

The Server Operation Engineer II provides operational support for large‑scale data‑center systems that manage building and physical security operations. Working in a ticket‑driven environment, the engineer resolves issues, installs operating systems, and ensures optimal server performance.

Key responsibilities

• Create data‑center layout plans and coordinate server rack mounting.
• Develop and implement capacity‑management strategies for large‑scale deployments.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, program management, operations, and data‑center development teams to gather server requirements and secure space, power, and rack capacity.
• Install operating systems on newly mounted servers and reinstall when needed.
• Perform daily server maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and break‑fix activities.
• Maintain asset data, ticketing records, and rack‑related information in internal systems.
• Work with remote vendors to resolve hardware batch failures and manage on‑call incidents.
• Collect and verify online asset status, erase drives for retiring or relocating servers, and handle RMA or media‑destruction processes.
• Write or update scripts to automate routine tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong ability to work under pressure and learn quickly.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the capacity to work independently.
