Service Operations Engineer II

About the role

The Service Operations Engineer II provides operational support for large‑scale building management and physical security systems. Working in a ticket‑driven environment, the engineer resolves hardware and software incidents, ensures server availability, and collaborates with remote vendors to maintain system integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, mount, and install servers or racks, followed by operating system deployment.
• Perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and break‑fix activities for servers and related hardware.
• Maintain asset data, ticketing records, and rack elevation diagrams.
• Coordinate with remote vendors to resolve hardware failures and manage RMA or media destruction processes.
• Provide on‑call support and address issues raised by business owners.
• Conduct server network troubleshooting and manage the full server lifecycle.
• Escalate complex problems to senior engineers as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong ability to work under pressure, quick learner with broad technical interest.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Responsibility, enthusiasm for work, and a proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Ability to write and run simple Shell/Bash scripts.
• Basic networking knowledge (MAC addresses, subnets, TCP/IP).
• Familiarity with out‑of‑band server management methods such as IPMI.
• Experience in server hardware troubleshooting and rack installation.
• Knowledge of asset management, ticketing systems, and server lifecycle processes.
• Automation or scripting experience (preferred).
