Software Engineer, Engineering Excellence

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the Engineering Excellence team you will create and maintain internal platforms, AI‑powered tools and engineering standards that boost developer productivity and system reliability across multiple fintech domains. You will work closely with teams in Transaction Experience, Payment Rails, Trading Desk, Treasury, Account & Identity, Blockchain and Card Issuance to reduce friction and improve observability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate internal tools, platforms and AI‑driven solutions that streamline development workflows.
• Support and enhance tooling used by engineering, product and operations teams.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues and implement fixes to improve scalability and throughput.
• Contribute to observability, monitoring and operational‑excellence initiatives.
• Implement AI security guardrails and governance mechanisms, and help assess AI‑related risks.
• Develop and promote engineering standards, guidelines and best practices.
• Partner with domain teams (Trading Desk, Blockchain, Payment Rails, Treasury, etc.) to understand challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
• Gather feedback from internal stakeholders and continuously improve the developer experience.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
• Proven ability to deliver reliable, maintainable and scalable software.
• Experience with modern backend services, APIs and distributed architectures.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimisation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing practices and software design principles.
• Passion for improving developer productivity and engineering excellence.
