Software Engineer II

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Corporate and Investment Banking – Kinexys agile team. You will contribute to the design, development, and reliable operation of cutting‑edge technology products that support the firm’s financial services operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and deliver software that automates manual operational work.
• Troubleshoot priority incidents, lead blameless post‑mortems, and ensure permanent resolution.
• Collaborate with developers throughout the lifecycle to build reliable, scalable software with minimal refactoring.
• Identify application patterns and analytics to improve service level objectives.
• Design self‑healing and resiliency patterns, as well as automated upgrade and release management solutions.
• Perform change management to deploy applications to target environments.
• Participate in 24x7 support coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Engineer.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one systems programming language (Java, Kotlin, Python, Go).
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Cloud Foundry.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, including IAM and VPC networking.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
• Understanding of Terraform, CKA/CKAD certifications is a plus.
