Special Education (SPED) Teacher

About the role

The Rainbow Centre is seeking a dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join its interdisciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, inclusive learning experiences that empower students with disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, evidence‑based lessons tailored to diverse learner profiles.
• Manage classroom dynamics to foster motivation, positive behaviour, and a safe learning environment.
• Develop and implement student‑centered IEP/ITP plans, monitoring progress in partnership with families and allied professionals.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to design holistic development strategies.
• Maintain accurate programme and client records in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
• Support co‑curricular activities that enhance student learning experiences.

Required profile

• Singaporean citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Diploma in Special Education (DISE) and registration as a teacher with the Ministry of Education.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a special education setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in evidence‑based pedagogical approaches.
• Experience developing and implementing IEP/ITP processes.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour facilitation techniques.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families, allied professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
