Sr. Microbiologist – Sterilization Supervisor

About the role

Medtronic Singapore Operations is seeking a Senior Microbiologist to lead the Sterilization and Microbiological Laboratory team. The role ensures timely, accurate testing and sterilization support for manufacturing, safeguarding product quality and patient safety while complying with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Sterilization and Microbiological Laboratory team to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
• Oversee microbiological analyses of raw materials, in‑process samples, release and stability specimens according to established procedures.
• Direct sterilization operations and related quality activities to ensure regulatory and quality‑system compliance.
• Review, interpret and trend microbiological and sterilization data, initiating corrective and preventive actions as needed.
• Develop, validate, implement and maintain controlled‑environment and microbiological testing methods.
• Drive process improvements by refining analytical techniques and supporting new testing approaches.
• Support investigations of deviations, non‑conformances, out‑of‑specification results and quality events in partnership with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Proven people‑leadership experience in a microbiology or sterilization laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality‑system requirements applicable to medical‑device manufacturing.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends and implement effective corrective actions.
• Experience driving continuous‑improvement initiatives and process optimisation.
• Excellent collaboration skills with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Regulatory functions.
