Swim Coach

About the role

Vernon's Swimming is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Swim Coach to lead both competitive swimmers and beginners. The ideal candidate will have a background as a former national swimmer and a passion for teaching water safety and technique.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programs for swimmers of all levels, from Learn to Swim participants to competitive athletes.
• Coach technique, endurance, and performance for athletes preparing for competitions.
• Tailor lessons and drills to meet the needs of beginners and advanced swimmers.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
• Monitor progress, provide feedback, and adjust training plans as needed.
• Promote water safety and a fun atmosphere for Learn to Swim students.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches and staff to develop a well‑rounded training program.
• Assist in organising and coaching competitive events and swim meets.

Required profile

• Former national swimmer with a proven competitive background.
• Experience coaching swimmers of various levels, including beginners.
• Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training strategies, and competitive swimming.
• Passion for coaching athletes of all ages and abilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and provide constructive feedback.
• Previous coaching experience is highly preferred but not required.
