System Engineer – File Transfer, Java API (JAX-WS) & MySQL Encryption

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced System Engineer to manage and support its file transfer infrastructure and related Java‑based web services. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance of Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions and associated applications.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, performing system patching, application deployment and reporting.
• Create, maintain and monitor jobs in the EFT application, performing health checks after infrastructure maintenance.
• Handle security tasks such as SLIFT key, SFTP password, SSL and RDP certificate changes.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Perform performance testing, identify bottlenecks and work with developers to implement fixes.
• Maintain backup, redundancy and security strategies, and keep an up‑to‑date software inventory.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in information technology, preferably with file transfer and security technologies.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate issues and propose solutions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.

Required skills

• File Transfer, Managed File Transfer (MFT), EFT, SFTP, file encryption.
• Java API for XML Web Services (JAX‑WS), Java EE frameworks.
• MySQL (including encryption), Oracle PL/SQL, MS SQL.
• XML, COTS tools for EAI‑MFT.
• Windows administration, UNIX/Linux, scripting (batch, shell).
• System patching, application deployment, monitoring and performance testing.
