Technical Officer – Construction Site Supervision

About the role

WSP is seeking a Technical Officer to support the delivery of construction projects. The role involves overseeing contractor activities on‑site, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications and contractual obligations while maintaining accurate daily records.

Key responsibilities

• Study and become familiar with the project’s organization, site conditions, contract conditions, civil/structural specifications, drawings, and architectural, M&E and specialist shop drawings.
• Supervise and monitor contractors’ work to guarantee adherence to design intent, specifications and required quality.
• Maintain a daily site diary documenting events and surveillance.
• Participate in site progress, technical and consultants’ meetings.
• Review contractors’ installation details for compliance with codes of practice and manufacturers’ instructions.
• Ensure timely submission of shop drawings, technical submittals, samples and other documentation by contractors.
• Check and review all work, shop drawings, technical submittals and samples submitted by contractors.
• Monitor on‑site progress, verify contractors’ progress reports and present them to the Project Manager to facilitate progress payment evaluation.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in an engineering discipline.
• Strong technical report writing ability.
• Good interpersonal skills with the capacity to build rapport with external clients.
