Testing and Commissioning Lead Engineer (T&C) - Waste Management

About the role

The Testing and Commissioning (T&C) Lead Engineer will support the T&C Manager on behalf of the Owner’s Engineer, overseeing all testing and commissioning activities for the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) contractors and related interfaces. The role involves coordinating plans, ensuring milestones are met, and guiding the commissioning from cold start through hot operation and trial runs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate testing and commissioning activities of IWMF EPC contractors (Package 1 – Waste‑to‑Energy/Materials Recovery, Package 2 – Sludge Incineration/Food Waste Treatment).
• Review and validate contractors’ testing and commissioning plans and monitor their execution.
• Manage interfaces between EPC packages and the TWRP facility to ensure seamless integration.
• Participate in regular T&C coordination meetings with contractors and client representatives.
• Support optimisation of plant operation together with contractors and O&M teams.
• Provide any additional tasks delegated by the T&C Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on testing and commissioning experience on large‑scale solid waste management projects (WTE, sludge incineration, materials recovery, food waste treatment) or comparable industrial/process utilities projects.
• Relevant engineering degree or professional certification.

Required skills

• Testing and commissioning of waste‑to‑energy facilities.
• Testing and commissioning of sludge incineration plants.
• Testing and commissioning of materials recovery facilities.
• Testing and commissioning of food waste treatment facilities.
• Experience with EPC‑type project delivery and interface management.
