UX/UI Designer – Air Traffic Management Lab

About the role

Thales is looking for a UX/UI Designer to join its AIR Lab in Singapore. You will shape user experiences for complex air traffic management prototypes, turning technical concepts into clear, data‑rich interfaces that support aviation stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, developers, data scientists, CAAS officials, air traffic controllers and other aviation stakeholders to capture concept objectives and user needs.
• Translate complex air traffic management concepts into user journeys, information architecture, visual designs, interaction behaviours, prototypes and UI specifications.
• Design dense prototype interfaces that incorporate maps, flight and trajectory data, simulations, dashboards, analytics, weather, alerts and other aviation data.
• Create and maintain design artefacts in Figma, including wireframes, high‑fidelity designs, prototypes, annotations and hand‑off specifications.
• Define lab‑specific design patterns and contribute to the Design System for multi‑application ATC prototypes.
• Work closely with developers to hand over designs, clarify requirements, review implementations and validate interactions.
• Present and justify design decisions to technical teams, CAAS stakeholders, air traffic controllers and management, and support the creation of user documentation and training materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as product owners, developers, data scientists and aviation stakeholders.
• Ability to understand and simplify complex, data‑heavy workflows into intuitive user experiences.
