VP, Application Developer - Institutional Banking Group Technology

About the role

DBS is looking for a VP, Application Developer within its Institutional Banking Group Technology, reporting to Group Technology. The role drives the build-out of capabilities on the Ecosystem Platform roadmap and provides technical leadership to development teams, with a focus on microservices, APIs and cloud-based delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the build-out of capabilities on the Ecosystem Platform roadmap and raise the bar of engineering practices.
• Direct architecture and development teams hands-on, define software standards, patterns, methodologies and quality practices, and set guidelines for software delivery.
• Manage projects and allocate development capacity, ensure agreed architecture is implemented with agreed patterns, and run POCs to define patterns and frameworks.
• Translate requirements into solution architecture and blueprints, decomposing monolithic applications into microservices and APIs in a Cloud/DevOps environment.
• Provide technical leadership through the SDLC, get the team's buy-in on designs, and act as the bridge between Enterprise/Application Architecture and Delivery.
• Plan and manage migration from in-house infrastructure to the cloud-based platform, and develop delivery capability from the ground up, including onshore and offshore teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 10-12 years of experience designing and building large-scale applications in identity and access management, integration, continuous delivery, pair programming and test-driven development.
• Strong understanding of banking platforms, payment and transaction systems and regulatory constraints.
• Experience building delivery capability from the ground up and leading balanced onshore and offshore teams.
• Data modelling in relational and NoSQL databases, and experience designing and coding scalable microservices.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, IAM, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway) and IAM security services.
• Cybersecurity observability and SRE framework.
• OAuth 2.0 / SAML 2.0, network security, authentication, authorization, digital token and cryptography.
• Java Spring Framework / Spring Cloud, Cloud Foundry, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins and Bitbucket.
• Agile development methodologies.
• AWS, Java, J2EE and Scrum certifications are an added advantage.
