VP, Specialist, Credit Risk Review - Institutional Banking

About the role

The Business Function Group Audit at DBS conducts independent checks so that the Board and Executive Management can be confident that the Group's risk and control processes are adequate and effective. This role leads and conducts risk-based credit risk reviews of institutional banking counterparties, reports findings in the Audit Report and documents them in work papers. It is based in DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct risk-based credit risk reviews of sampled institutional banking counterparties, identifying credit quality and risk management issues such as the appropriateness of assigned credit risk ratings
• Ensure issues are reported succinctly in the Audit Report and documented in work papers
• Perform portfolio quality assessment and validate portfolio stress testing when leading a project
• Monitor credit portfolios by location and industry as assigned
• Work with the IBG credit process and global transaction services audit teams for end-to-end audit execution
• Assess non-compliance and gaps against the Bank's credit and underwriting policies and regulatory requirements (credit risk, AML, environmental risk)
• Stay informed on regulatory, economic, industry and technology developments affecting the IBG credit portfolio
• Support the IBG Functional Audit Head and Deputy in project planning and execution, and take part in digital projects improving data-driven audit processes

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate credit risk management, relationship management and/or credit risk review
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accountancy, Finance or Economics
• Strong knowledge of corporate credit and credit policy, with the ability to analyse emerging risk trends and assess credit proposals and portfolio quality
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, adaptable and able to multitask under strict deadlines
